- Infringe on intellectual property rights or trade secrets
- Violate privacy laws or regulations (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, etc.)
2.2 Harmful or Malicious Conduct
You may not:
- Distribute malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or other malicious code
- Conduct or facilitate cyberattacks, including DDoS attacks, brute force attacks, or penetration testing without authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, other users' accounts, or third-party systems
- Interfere with, disrupt, or degrade the performance or functionality of the Services
- Exploit security vulnerabilities in the Services (report vulnerabilities responsibly to security@getrelevant.ai)
- Bypass, circumvent, or disable security features, access controls, or usage restrictions
- Use the Services to scan, probe, or test vulnerabilities of other systems
- Create or distribute tools designed to compromise security
2.3 Abuse of AI Systems
You may not:
- Manipulate, deceive, or attempt to game AI systems through misleading information, fake reviews, or artificial consensus
- Generate or distribute content designed to exploit AI system vulnerabilities or biases
- Use the Services to create deepfakes, impersonations, or misleading AI-generated content without appropriate disclosure
- Attempt to reverse engineer AI system algorithms through systematic probing or testing
- Coordinate with others to artificially inflate brand mentions or manipulate AI recommendations
- Submit false, misleading, or deceptive brand information with intent to mislead AI systems or consumers
- Use the Services to harm competitors through false information or negative campaigning
- Create fake personas, reviews, testimonials, or social proof to influence AI systems
- Engage in "prompt injection" attacks or adversarial inputs designed to manipulate AI outputs
2.4 Spam and Unsolicited Communications
You may not:
- Send spam, bulk unsolicited emails, or unsolicited commercial communications
- Harvest, scrape, or collect email addresses or personal information from our Services or through AI systems
- Use the Services to facilitate phishing, pretexting, or social engineering attacks
- Distribute chain letters, pyramid schemes, or multi-level marketing schemes
- Engage in SMS spam, WhatsApp spam, or other forms of messaging abuse
- Create multiple accounts to evade restrictions or send unsolicited messages
2.5 Intellectual Property Violations
You may not:
- Infringe copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights
- Upload, distribute, or generate content you do not have rights to use
- Circumvent digital rights management (DRM) or content protection systems
- Use our Services to create unauthorized derivative works of copyrighted materials
- Impersonate brands, businesses, or individuals without authorization
- Use competitors' trademarks, logos, or copyrighted materials without permission in your monitoring or optimization campaigns
- Violate trademark law by creating confusion about brand affiliations or endorsements
- Generate AI content that incorporates others' copyrighted materials without proper licensing
2.6 Privacy and Data Protection Violations
You may not:
- Collect, use, or disclose personal information without proper consent or legal basis
- Submit personal data to the Services that you are not authorized to process
- Violate data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, HIPAA, COPPA, etc.)
- Sell, rent, or trade personal information obtained through the Services
- Use the Services to track, monitor, or surveil individuals without consent
- Submit sensitive personal information (social security numbers, health data, financial account numbers) unless explicitly permitted and secured
- Scrape or harvest personal data from AI systems or our platform
- Use customer data obtained through competitive intelligence for unauthorized purposes
- Create profiles or dossiers on individuals without their knowledge or consent
2.7 Abusive or Harmful Content
You may not use the Services to create, distribute, or promote:
- Hate speech, discrimination, or content that incites violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics
- Harassment, bullying, stalking, or threatening content
- Sexually explicit or pornographic content (except where legally permitted for legitimate business purposes)
- Content exploiting or endangering minors
- Graphic violence, gore, or content glorifying violence
- Self-harm or suicide promotion
- Dangerous or illegal activities (bomb-making, drug manufacturing, etc.)
- Misinformation or disinformation intended to deceive or cause harm
- Defamatory, libelous, or slanderous content
- Content that violates anyone's privacy, publicity, or other rights
2.8 Platform Abuse and Misuse
You may not:
- Use the Services in ways that exceed reasonable usage limits or fair use
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions, abuse free trials, or obtain unfair advantages
- Share, sell, rent, or transfer your account access to unauthorized third parties
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Services except through authorized APIs
- Overwhelm our systems with excessive requests (rate limiting violations)
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive source code from the Services
- Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary notices, labels, or marks on the Services
- Frame, mirror, or create derivative works of the Services without authorization
- Use the Services to provide services to third parties (reselling, white-labeling) without written permission
- Benchmark or conduct competitive analysis of our Services for competing product development
2.9 Competitive and Market Manipulation
You may not:
- Use competitive intelligence data to engage in anticompetitive practices
- Coordinate with competitors to fix prices, allocate markets, or engage in bid-rigging
- Engage in false advertising or deceptive marketing practices
- Create fake product listings, reviews, or ratings
- Manipulate search rankings through black-hat SEO or deceptive practices
- Use the Services to harm competitors through false information, negative SEO, or reputation attacks
- Engage in click fraud or impression fraud
- Violate FTC guidelines, ASA regulations, or other advertising standards
2.10 Financial and Payment Abuse
You may not:
- Use stolen, fraudulent, or unauthorized payment methods
- Engage in payment fraud, chargeback abuse, or refund fraud
- Provide false billing information
- Use the Services to facilitate money laundering or terrorist financing
- Evade taxes or engage in tax fraud
- Violate payment processor terms of service (Stripe, PayPal, etc.)
2.11 Misrepresentation and Fraud
You may not:
- Provide false, misleading, or inaccurate information during registration or use of the Services
- Impersonate others (individuals, brands, organizations, employees of Relevant)
- Create fake accounts, personas, or identities
- Misrepresent your affiliation with Relevant or authorization to use the Services
- Forge headers, manipulate identifiers, or disguise the origin of content
- Make false claims about product features, pricing, or performance
- Engage in astroturfing, fake grassroots campaigns, or manufactured consensus
3. Responsible Use Guidelines
In addition to prohibiting specific activities, we expect all users to:
3.1 Act Ethically and Professionally
- Use the Services honestly and transparently
- Respect the rights and dignity of others
- Comply with industry best practices and ethical standards
- Disclose AI-generated content appropriately where required by law or custom
- Maintain professional standards in all communications
3.2 Protect Privacy and Data
- Only submit data you have authorization to process
- Implement appropriate security measures for sensitive information
- Obtain proper consents before collecting or processing personal data
- Honor data subject rights (access, deletion, correction requests)
- Minimize data collection to what is necessary
3.3 Use Resources Responsibly
- Keep usage within reasonable limits for your subscription tier
- Don't abuse free trials or promotional offers
- Report bugs, vulnerabilities, or issues responsibly
- Cooperate with our reasonable requests regarding usage patterns
- Scale your usage appropriately as your needs grow
3.4 Respect AI System Integrity
- Provide accurate, truthful information about your brand and products
- Don't attempt to manipulate or deceive AI systems
- Disclose material connections and sponsorships as required by law
- Use optimization techniques that improve genuine relevance, not artificial manipulation
- Respect the terms of service of AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
3.5 Maintain Account Security
- Keep your credentials confidential and secure
- Use strong, unique passwords
- Enable two-factor authentication when available
- Promptly report suspected unauthorized access
- Don't share accounts with unauthorized individuals
- Monitor Authorized User activity and ensure their compliance
4. Monitoring and Enforcement
4.1 Monitoring Rights
Relevant reserves the right (but has no obligation) to:
- Monitor use of the Services for compliance with this AUP
- Investigate suspected violations of this AUP
- Review Customer Content for prohibited activities
- Cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory authorities
- Collect and analyze usage data to detect abuse
We respect your privacy and will conduct monitoring in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws.
4.2 Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violations of this AUP, please report them immediately to:

We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action. We may keep your identity confidential where possible, but cannot guarantee anonymity in all cases (especially where legal process requires disclosure).
4.3 Enforcement Actions
If we determine you have violated this AUP, we may take any or all of the following actions:
Warnings:
- Issue a written warning describing the violation
- Request immediate cessation of prohibited activity
- Require corrective action within a specified timeframe
Suspension:
- Temporarily suspend your access to all or part of the Services
- Suspend specific features or functionalities
- Rate-limit or throttle your usage
- Suspend Authorized User accounts
Termination:
- Immediately terminate your account and access to the Services
- Terminate specific Authorized Users
- Refuse to provide Services to you in the future
- Delete or disable violating content
Legal Action:
- Report violations to law enforcement or regulatory authorities
- Initiate civil litigation to recover damages
- Seek injunctive relief to prevent ongoing violations
- Cooperate with investigations and legal proceedings
Financial Remedies:
- Forfeit prepaid fees without refund
- Charge for costs incurred due to violations
- Withhold payment or issue chargebacks where appropriate
4.4 Factors Considered in Enforcement
When determining appropriate enforcement action, we consider:
- Severity and nature of the violation
- Whether the violation was intentional or inadvertent
- History of prior violations
- Harm caused to Relevant, other users, or third parties
- Responsiveness to warnings and cooperation with investigation
- Legal or regulatory requirements
4.5 No Duty to Enforce
Our failure to enforce any provision of this AUP does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce it in the future. We are not obligated to take action against every violation.
4.6 Emergency Actions
In cases of severe violations that pose immediate risk (security threats, illegal activity, significant harm to others), we may take immediate action without prior notice, including:
- Immediate suspension or termination
- Deletion of content
- Notification to law enforcement
- Blocking access to systems
5. Consequences of Violations
5.1 Account Actions
Violations may result in:
- First offense: Warning and required corrective action
- Second offense: Temporary suspension (7-30 days)
- Third offense or severe violation: Permanent termination
We reserve the right to skip warnings for egregious violations (illegal activity, severe abuse, security threats).
5.2 Financial Consequences
- No refunds for fees paid if your account is terminated for AUP violations
- Liability for damages caused by your violations
- Legal costs and fees if we must take legal action
- Collection fees for unpaid amounts owed
5.3 Legal Consequences
Certain violations may result in:
- Criminal prosecution (fraud, hacking, illegal content distribution)
- Civil lawsuits from Relevant or affected third parties
- Regulatory fines and penalties
- Professional disciplinary action
- Permanent ban from using our Services
5.4 Referral to Authorities
We cooperate with law enforcement and may report violations to:
- Local, state/provincial, or federal law enforcement
- Regulatory agencies (FTC, ICO, CRTC, etc.)
- Professional licensing boards
- Other affected parties or platforms
6. Appeals and Disputes
6.1 Right to Appeal
If you believe we have taken enforcement action against you in error, you may appeal by:
- Sending an email to appeals@getrelevant.ai within 30 days of the action
- Including your account information, description of the action taken, and explanation of why you believe it was in error
- Providing any relevant evidence or documentation
We will review appeals in good faith and respond within 15 business days.
6.2 No Guarantee of Restoration
Submitting an appeal does not guarantee restoration of access or reversal of enforcement actions. Our decisions regarding AUP violations are final unless we determine an error occurred.
6.3 Continued Compliance Required
Even if an appeal is successful, you must immediately cease any prohibited activities and comply with all corrective actions we require.
7. Third-Party Compliance
7.1 AI Platform Terms
When using our Services, you must also comply with the terms of service and acceptable use policies of third-party AI platforms, including:
- OpenAI Usage Policies
- Anthropic's Acceptable Use Policy
- Terms of service for other AI systems you interact with through our Services
Violations of third-party terms may also constitute violations of this AUP.
7.2 E-commerce Platform Terms
If you use integrations with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, etc.), you must comply with their terms of service and acceptable use policies.
7.3 Advertising and Marketing Regulations
You must comply with all applicable advertising and marketing regulations, including:
- FTC Guidelines on Endorsements and Testimonials
- CAN-SPAM Act and CASL (Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation)
- GDPR marketing consent requirements
- Industry-specific advertising regulations
- Platform-specific advertising policies (Google Ads, Meta Ads, etc.)
8. Specific Use Case Guidelines
8.1 Competitive Intelligence
When using competitive intelligence features:
- Do: Use publicly available data for legitimate competitive analysis
- Do: Respect competitors' intellectual property rights
- Don't: Access competitors' proprietary systems or accounts without authorization
- Don't: Use competitive data to engage in false advertising or defamation
- Don't: Coordinate with competitors in ways that violate antitrust laws
8.2 Content Generation
When using AI content generation features:
- Do: Review and verify all AI-generated content before publication
- Do: Disclose AI-generated content where required by law or platform policies
- Do: Ensure generated content is accurate and not misleading
- Don't: Generate content that infringes copyrights or trademarks
- Don't: Create fake reviews, testimonials, or social proof
- Don't: Generate content designed to deceive consumers or AI systems
8.3 Brand Monitoring
When monitoring brand mentions in AI systems:
- Do: Monitor your own brands and authorized client brands
- Do: Use insights to improve legitimate brand positioning
- Don't: Monitor brands without authorization
- Don't: Use monitoring to facilitate trademark infringement
- Don't: Systematically probe AI systems to reverse engineer algorithms
8.4 Schema Markup and Technical Optimization
When implementing technical optimizations:
- Do: Use structured data accurately to represent your content
- Do: Follow schema.org guidelines and best practices
- Don't: Use misleading or inaccurate schema markup
- Don't: Implement schema to deceive search engines or AI systems
- Don't: Violate webmaster guidelines of search engines
9. Changes to This Policy
9.1 Right to Modify
We reserve the right to modify this AUP at any time to:
- Address new types of abuse or misuse
- Comply with legal or regulatory requirements
- Clarify existing provisions
- Improve user experience and platform security

This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service. In the event of conflict between this AUP and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control unless this AUP is more restrictive.
11.2 Survival
This AUP survives termination of your account or the Terms of Service to the extent necessary to enforce violations that occurred during your use of the Services.
11.3 Severability
If any provision of this AUP is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

- "Including" means "including but not limited to"
- Singular includes plural and vice versa
- "May" means discretionary right, not obligation
